Douglas Abbott, Ph.D. Professor, Child, Youth & Family Studies

Douglas Abbott obtained his bachelor's degree in human biology at Oregon State, his master's in human development at Brigham Young University, and a doctorate in child and family studies from the University of Georgia in 1983. His current research interests include adolescent sexual decision-making and immigrant Muslim families. He received a Fulbright to India in 1996 and a Fulbright to Israel in 2006.

Abbott's current research includes sexual identity development, effects of political violence on Israeli and Palestinian youth, and risk and protective factors in adolescent sexual abstinence.
