As the director of the Pediatric Psychology program at UNMC, Joseph Evans is actively involved in a number of activities including clinical service, intern training, research and grant generation. He supervises the ADHD clinic for MMI and is considered the adolescent psychology treatment specialist for the department. He assisted in establishing the Nebraska Internship Consortium in Professional Psychology and served on the Consortium Board of Supervisors for the first five years of its existence.
Evans is the recipient of over $14 million in federal and state grants over his career. He supervises psychology interns, post-doctoral fellows, and twelve MMI faculty members. His programmatic interests are in rural behavioral health, program dissemination, and policy issues relating to the provision of pediatric psychology services to under-served communities and populations. His research interests are in dissemination and implementation research, integration of behavioral health into primary health care practice, and rural behavioral care provision.
