Shavonna Holman, Ph.D. Research Assistant Professor, Department of Educational Administration
Shavonna Holman is a research assistant professor and the lead evaluator for the Nebraska Statewide Title I Accountability Research Project. In 2009, she received a fellowship from the Sherwood Foundation and received her doctorate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2011. Her dissertation focused on student success in high-poverty, urban elementary schools.
Prior to her role at UNL, Holman was an assistant principal and teacher for the Omaha Public Schools. Both her professional and personal experiences are rooted deeply in urban education. Holman has attended and worked in schools with high poverty rates.
