Kenneth Kiewra, Ph.D. Professor, Educational Psychology

Kenneth Kiewra's research focus is teaching and learning, and he is interested in what teachers can do to improve instruction and teach students how to learn. Further, he is interested in student learning strategies, as well as areas of creativity and the development of talent and expertise. Much of his teaching and learning research pertains to the use of graphic representations to organize information and reveal associations among ideas and to the SOAR teaching and learning model he developed. He has written two books about how to study and a third book for teachers.

Kiewra received his doctorate in educational psychology with a minor in instructional design and development from Florida State University in 1982.
