Jody Koenig-Kellas, Ph.D. Professor, Department of Communication Studies
Jody Koenig-Kellas conducts research on narratives and storytelling in family and relational communication contexts. Her research has explored post-dissolutional communication, face work, attributions in marital relationships, as well as the processes, identity negotiation and relational qualities associated with individual and collaborative storytelling in families. Her recent publications examine how various facets of narrative and post-dissolutional communication relate to family functioning, relational satisfaction, individual adjustment and the construction of identity. In the last two years, her research has received Top Paper awards from interest groups in the National Communication Association and the Western States Communication Association.
Kellas received her master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Washington.
