Marjorie Kostelnik, Ph.D. Dean, College of Education and Human Sciences

Marjorie Kostelnik is an early childhood educator by training. Her areas of teaching and scholarship include child socialization and developmentally appropriate practices with young children. Author of 58 articles/chapters and 17 books, she is a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Early Childhood Research and Practice and the Asia-Pacific Journal of Research in Early Childhood Education. Most recently, she was appointed to the National Academies of Science Institute of Medicine Committee to Study the Science of Children Birth to Age 8.

Kostelnik received her doctorate from The Pennsylvania State University in 1978.
