Tanya Ihlo, Ph.D. Research Assistant Professor, Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools Director, Nebraska Multi-tiered System of Supports Implementation Support Team

Tanya Ihlo joined the Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools in the fall of 2007. She is currently the director of the Nebraska Multi-tiered System of Support Implementation Support Team, housed in CYFS and funded by the Nebraska Department of Education. As director, she provides leadership by working with the Nebraska Department of Education to implement a statewide training and evaluation plan for the delivery of multi-tiered services. These services address students’ academic and behavior needs.

Ihlo has extensive professional development and coaching experience. She has a strong understanding of a systems approach to school reform, and academic and behavioral student interventions. Her research interests include examining the efficacy of intervention systems in schools and the key components of professional development and coaching. She wants to enhance teachers’ understanding and use of data for decision-making and delivery of interventions, using evidence-based instructional practices.
