ANDRILL Research Immersion for Science Educators (ARISE)
This project, funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), provides the opportunity for science educators to travel to Antarctica and participate on teams with scientists who are conducting their research through ice core drilling. This project is spearheaded by ANDRILL geoscience faculty and staff. Research faculty from the Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools are coordinating evaluation activities related to the impact of this experience on science educators and research scientists, as well as educators' perceptions regarding the impact of their educational and outreach activities on their students and the general public. Participants of this project include science educators and research scientists. We anticipate a direct impact on both groups of participants as well as a potential impact on their students and the general public.
