Strategic Cluster for the Development of the Institute for Childhood and Adolescent Risk Prevention
The purpose of the project was to develop capacity for a multi-institutional investigation of risk prevention for children and youth. This innovative project involved faculty from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Iowa State University, and the University of Kansas. Researchers investigated various systems (ecological factors), including the family, school, and community, that influence child and adolescent risk taking and mechanisms for promoting risk prevention.
The specific aim for this proposal was to create an infrastructure for advancing a multi-institutional and strategic risk-prevention research agenda. The long-term goal was to advance science and practice by establishing a nationally-recognized institute for the investigation and promotion of risk prevention - The Institute for Childhood and Adolescent Risk Prevention.
