Administration for Children and Families (ACF)
Mission: To promote the economic and social well-being of families, children, individuals, and communities. ACF programs aim to achieve the following:
- families and individuals empowered to increase their own economic independence and productivity;
- strong, healthy, supportive communities that have a positive impact on the quality of life and the development of children;
- partnerships with individuals, front-line service providers, communities, American Indian tribes, Native communities, states, and Congress that enable solutions which transcend traditional agency boundaries;
- services planned, reformed, and integrated to improve needed access;
- and a strong commitment to working with people with developmental disabilities, refugees, and migrants to address their needs, strengths, and abilities.
Agency for Healthcare, Research, and Quality (AHRQ)
Mission: To improve the quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care for all Americans.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
Mission: To promote health and quality of life by preventing and controlling disease, injury, and disability.
Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)
Mission: To improve and expand access to quality health care for all.
Goal: Moving toward 100% access to health care and zero health disparities for all Americans.
Vision: The Access Agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, HRSA assures the availability of quality health care to low income, uninsured, isolated, vulnerable and special needs populations and meets their unique health care needs.
Strategies: Eliminate barriers to care, eliminate health disparities, assure quality of care, improve public health and health care systems.
National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Mission: To provide stewardship of medical and behavioral research for the Nation.
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA)
Mission: To promote a life in the community for everyone.
