Abstract
Getting Ready is an evidence-based initiative focused on interaction among children, their families and early childhood professionals to promote parental warmth, sensitivity and active participation in supporting children's early learning. After two additional years of implementation of the Getting Ready family engagement project, the expansion of services to additional early childhood programs, counties and settings will result in early childhood providers using effective strategies to partner productively with families, and support children's healthy development.
This project focuses on continued growth and sustainability of Getting Ready within the state early childhood infrastructure, including use in five new communities and 11 new counties. Project activities will increase communities that adopt and support Getting Ready family engagement by 40%; increase the number of counties by 30%; and c) increase home- and community-based child care providers who are trained in Getting Ready by 75%.
