Registration is open for CYFS’ 20-year anniversary celebration

For 20 years, the Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools has been committed to one core mission: Make a positive difference in people’s lives through research in the social, behavioral and educational sciences.

There will be a special event Nov. 19 to celebrate CYFS’ 20th anniversary and recognize the vibrant, interdisciplinary research community that has contributed to the center’s mission since its founding in 2004.

Register now for CYFS at 20: Research that Shapes the Future.

The event will include a forward-thinking presentation by Mark T. Greenberg, Ph.D., founding director of the Edna Bennett Pierce Prevention Research Center at Penn State University. Greenberg will highlight the importance of promoting caring contexts for children, with a focus on the practical application of prevention science. His insights will spark discussion on how research collaboration and innovation can shape a brighter future for the next generation, including opportunities to expand CYFS’ work in the next 20 years.

The event begins at 4:30 p.m. at the Champions Club, 707 Stadium Drive. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required by Nov. 11.

Event co-sponsors include the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Education and Human Sciences (CEHS), the Office of Research and Innovation, the UNL Office of the Chancellor, Buffett Early Childhood Institute and the University of Nebraska Foundation.

More information on the center’s growth and impacts in Nebraska and beyond will be shared later this fall in a special edition of its annual report.
