Three CYFS undergraduate research assistants have received a top research poster award from the College of Education and Human Sciences, and the Office of Undergraduate Research at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
Laura Domet, Zac Egr and Madison Warrick received the $250 award, which recognizes outstanding posters that were presented at the UNL Spring Research Fair. The award is funded by the College of Education and Human Sciences.Full Article

Amanda Witte, CYFS project manager, has been selected to participate in an inaugural fellows program through the University of Nebraska’s Rural Futures Institute. As one of 15 faculty fellows, Witte was selected for her contributions to rural communities through research.Full Article

Martha Mamo was named Aaron Douglas/John E. Weaver Professor of Agronomy and Horticulture. The professorship recognizes faculty members with the rank of full professor who demonstrate sustained levels of teaching excellence and national visibility for instructional activities and/or practice.Full Article
CYFS director Susan Sheridan is the recipient of the Senior Scientist in School Psychology Award from the American Psychological Association. The award recognizes academic school psychologists with sustained research programs of exceptional quality.

For sustained research excellence throughout her career, CYFS director Susan Sheridan has received the Senior Scientist in School Psychology Award from the American Psychological Association’s Division of School Psychology. She will be formally recognized at the APA Convention Aug. 8 in Toronto, Canada.Full Article

The Chancellor’s Professor received this year’s Distinguished Research/Creative Career award, as CEHS recognized outstanding faculty and staff at an April 10 awards ceremony.Full Article

The Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools (CYFS) recently provided grant proposal and development assistance to eight CEHS faculty—all of whom received 2015-16 Layman Awards. The award, funded by UNL’s Office of Research and Economic Development, provides $10,000 in seed money for untenured faculty and supports researchers in their pursuit of external funding.Full Article
