
CYFS Faculty Affiliate Reece Peterson, professor of special education and communication disorders at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, was quoted in a Dec. 6 Washington Post story on the practices of restraining and secluding students with emotional or behavioral disorders.
The Washington Post story follows Peterson’s appearance in a July 2012 Education Week article on the same topic.
Peterson previously co-directed the Safe and Responsive Schools Project, a national study on violence prevention and improving student behavior in school. He has also served as president of the International Council for Children with Behavioral Disorders.
