For more than 20 years, the Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools has worked to make a positive difference in people’s lives through research in the social, behavioral and educational sciences.
Building on this foundation, the center is launching the second round of its Signature Research Impact Program — a funding opportunity designed to support high-impact research that benefits Nebraska’s children, families, schools and communities.
The program is funded by private donations to the center through the University of Nebraska Foundation, aligning with the Only in Nebraska campaign priority to advance transformational research and innovation.
Projects selected for Signature Research Impact awards must align with the CYFS mission, support one or more of the center’s six thematic areas, and address issues that affect Nebraskans.
Eligible principal investigators must be University of Nebraska faculty members — from any campus — and CYFS research affiliates. Faculty interested in becoming affiliates should contact CYFS Director Sue Sheridan.
The maximum award request is $20,000 for projects lasting up to two years.
A Notice of Intent (NOI) is required to support planning but is not binding. The Request for Proposals (RFP) provides detailed guidance for preparing both the NOI and full proposal application.
The NOI deadline is 5 p.m. CST on Feb. 16, and full proposals are due 5 p.m. CDT on March 16.
Visit the program page for more details, including a link to download the full Request for Proposals.
