CYFS is seeking its next director — an accomplished research leader who can build on a strong foundation of partnerships, signature programs and real-world impact.
The search is being led by a faculty search committee, with support from the College of Education and Human Sciences (CEHS) at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
This leadership opportunity is ideally suited for a senior principal investigator or current research center director with a strong record of externally funded, interdisciplinary research and experience leading a large, complex research enterprise.
Founded in 2004, CYFS is a nationally recognized, revenue-generating research center advancing high-impact scholarship in the social, behavioral and educational sciences. For more than two decades, the center has played a central role in driving research excellence, external funding and interdisciplinary collaboration across the University of Nebraska system.
As the sole collegewide research center in CEHS, CYFS provides critical research infrastructure and expert pre- and post-award grantsmanship support — driving faculty productivity, securing competitive external funding, strengthening research partnerships and ensuring high-impact implementation and outcomes.
The new director will succeed founding director Susan Sheridan, who will conclude her leadership role June 30 after 28 years at UNL.
Review of applications will begin May 21, and the search will remain open until the position is filled.
Applicants must submit a letter describing their qualifications and leadership approach, a curriculum vitae, a list of professional references and examples of scholarly work. More information about the position and application process is available on the university’s employment website.
