Doctoral degree and university: Ph.D. in Family and Human Development (Specialization in Measurement and Statistical Analysis) from Arizona State University

Research areas of interest: My research focuses on motivation and socio-emotional regulation for optimal youth outcomes in the family and educational context. I am interested in addressing psychosocial factors for well-being and stress regulation in youth using salivary bioscience methods. Study explores how to support caregivers affected by Zika virus

The mosquito-borne Zika virus has left hundreds of Brazilian families grappling with a new reality: caring for disabled infants and toddlers.

Natalie Williams, assistant professor of child, youth and family studies, is joining Brazilian researchers to explore how to support caregivers whose children have been affected by Congenital Zika Virus Syndrome, a neurological condition associated with cognitive and physical disabilities. Faculty invited to join early childhood research database

The Nebraska Academy for Early Childhood Research is inviting all faculty members with an interest in early childhood research to join an online, campus-wide database.

The database is designed to be easily searchable, allowing faculty to identify others who are doing research in their content area. The database will include faculty research areas and populations, as well as research tools, design and methods. Full Article

CYFS has released a new website and print book for researchers pursuing grants in the social, educational and behavioral sciences.

Both resources share information about CYFS grant support, which includes services from project conception to execution. The resources share information about complimentary grant services, current rates for additional services, and frequently asked questions. Full Article

Witte selected as Rural Futures Institute fellow

Amanda Witte, CYFS project manager, has been selected to participate in an inaugural fellows program through the University of Nebraska’s Rural Futures Institute. As one of 15 faculty fellows, Witte was selected for her contributions to rural communities through research. Full Article
