Registration is now open for the Spring 2019 Emerging Scholar Workshop, led by the University of Michigan’s Tim Guetterman, applied research methodologist and co-director of the Michigan Mixed Methods Program.
The two-day event will be March 7 and 8 at the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center, Unity Room (212). The event is presented by the Nebraska Academy for Methodology, Analytics and Psychometrics.

A research team behind recently published findings on the use of mixed methods designs in mindfulness studies included a CYFS faculty member and a faculty affiliate.
The article, “A Critical Methodological Review of Mixed Methods Designs Used in Mindfulness Research,” appeared in the October issue of Mindfulness, a journal of peer-reviewed papers that examine the latest research findings and best practices in mindfulness research.
Faculty and students from two continents came together recently in Lincoln for a pair of research luncheons to update one another on various joint projects.
Researchers from the University Federal Rural of Pernambuco in Brazil visited Lincoln April 24 to meet with their CYFS faculty and student counterparts in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln/Brazil Early Childhood Partnership. A second group of Brazilian researchers, from University Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, were on campus May 8 to discuss their projects with their Nebraska partners.

Ann Arthur, graduate research assistant in educational psychology, led a March 30 presentation in the 2018 Methodology Applications Series. Her presentation, “An Introduction to Loglinear Models,” is now available via video.
Arthur’s presentation briefly summarizes the application of loglinear models for the analysis of categorical data, as well as how the loglinear model serves as a useful reparameterization for logistic models and latent class models.
